This Gauguin-inspired, over-sized cushion is a painting in wool. The knitting is much easier than you might think, large blocks of color are knit and the multicolor detail is embroidered on after knitting.

You will need:
worsted felting wool like Plymouth Galway

-2 balls each of colors: pale medium orange, violet, pale green, rust orange, hot pink

-and 1 ball each of the following colors:
wine, daffodil, chocolate, wheat, light lavender, light blue, green, brown, garnet, dark blue, dark grey, bright red, red

needles: US 15 circular, 24" to 32" long

and the following materials:
-one 21" x 22.5" piece of sturdy fabric for backside of cushion
-one 72" x 5" matching sturdy fabric for edge
-fiber fill or 4" thick foam cut to size
